Required To Pay For Doing Surveys?

I keep seeing explanations in survey directions that I will not be required to pay to complete the survey.  Has anyone ever had to pay to do a survey? I've been doing this for quite a few years and cannot remember ever having to pay. How would they charge you and why?

It depends what you mean by pay. I've never had to pay financially. However, I regularly have to pay with my sanity!

I've never encountered any that required a payment.  Wouldn't do one that did!  I imagine they'd take it out of your winnings (points, cash value, whatever) and that you'd have to clear that level before earning anything you could keep.  And why do I think they'd never pay out in the long term? 

I have never seen that and I would not pay. 

I can't imagine that would work as a business model. No one would pay.

I just had another one and there was a whole paragraph about it.  What the heck!

Maybe it is just their way of justifying to themselves why the pay rates on most surveys are pitiful. If they tell themselves that at least they aren't charging us, then maybe they feel a bit better about themselves.

There are grifters that charge you for joining their sites.

Is this the site with the virtual auction?  I avoid that survey when it pops up.  I don't trust it.

Not that I know of. I took the survey and got paid for it.
